Lithium batteries have presented a significant hazard so far in explosive environments due to the risk of internal shorts that would initiate the irreversible runaway process that ended up in complete burn-out of the batteries.

We have developed a relatively high capacity battery that is immune to internal shorts inside the cells and is under certification for Zone 1 according to IEC 60079-0 and IEC 60079-11.
